Change a Life Foundation operates a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange Counties and for Emancipated Youth throughout California.

The Change a Life Scholarship Program wishes to bridge the financial gap that college-bound students face. The donor wishes to do this by providing scholarships to students with great potential, high financial need, strong academic demonstration and community/civic involvement. Scholarships are meant to assist economically disadvantaged students who excel academically to attend the University/College of their choice, with a scholarship of up to $5,000 to defray unmet needs such as: tuition, room and board, lab fees, books, and health care insurance.

Foster A Dream is accepting applications for our 2010 “Dare to Dream” Academic Scholarship.

Current and former foster youth living in the Bay Area who plan to pursue or continue their higher education dreams are invited to apply.

Applications for the DVC Scholarship program are still being accepted. To put your name in the running for scholarship money available only to current DVC students, you must submit your application by Tuesday, February 2nd.

Students must complete a scholarship application online, a 1-2 page essay discussing their educational goals, leadership, and educational journey, and submit two letters of recommendation. Only complete applications will be considered for awards.

Scholarship Application for Students From Foster Care Now Available

 

Casey Family Programs and The Orphan Foundation of American are pleased to announce that applications for college scholarships for students from foster care are now available for the 2010-2011 academic year. The Casey Family Scholars Program will award approximately 75 new scholarships for undergraduate study and career/technical training at accredited institutions and programs. A limited number of graduate school scholarships will also be awarded. Scholarships include support services.

Undergraduate scholarships are awarded based on a combination of merit and need, and funding levels are determined based on cost of attendance and other resources. Graduate scholarships are merit-based and provide $10,000 for post-graduate study in any field. Graduate scholarships are renewable for one year.

The online application closes at midnight March 31, 2010.
